The Coronet black currant is a newer cultivar that comes from the Canadian breeding program. It is resistant to white pine blister rust and has medium-sized berries that ripen early in the season. Though the berries are slightly bitter, it is an excellent choice for drying and preserves due to its great processing qualities.
